iTunes Down?

It is possible that Apple’s iTunes digital music store could shut down as early as this week. The US Copyright Royalty Board is deliberating whether the company should have to pay higher royalty rates, with a verdict expected as early as today.

The National Music Publishers’ Association is responsible from spearheading the rate increase campaign, which would elevate the rates by 66 percent, from the current nine cents to 15 cents a song. Apple has motioned to lower the rate to 4.8 cents a track, according to CNN. You can read more here.
