The US Copyright Royalty Board ruled on Thursday that the current 9.1 cents per song royalty rate will remain the standard for the next five years. It appears this is a victory for all parties involved who seem to be happy with the deal, as Apple Inc. had threatened to close down its iTune music store had the rates increased.
